The MDF Invitational is a dynasty league. The champion is determined in an NFL style 14 team playoff (7 teams from each conference) with #1 seed from each conference earning a 1st round bye. A $50 entry fee is required to join this league. If you wish to trade future years draft picks you must also pay for that year in full.  We will conduct a 50 round snake draft as our startup.  Startup draft order will be randomized once the league is full and paid for.

4.3 Taxi

  • Each franchise will be allocated a 10 player Taxi Squad (TS).
  • Only 1st and 2nd year players are eligible for the TS.
  • Free Agent pickups and traded players may be placed directly onto the TS providing they are a 1st or 2nd year player.
  • At the start of the regular season (Week 1) you may promote players, but, if they ever start, they will remain on the active roster until dropped or traded.
  • You are allowed to promote and demote as much as you want in the off-season.  After the NFL season has concluded you may demote players again. You may demote a player you started during the season as long as he remains 1st or 2nd year.

5) Trades

  • All trades will be subject to commissioner review
  • All owners are encouraged to the make trades in good faith
  • An owner that continually makes bad trades will be asked to leave the league
  • If a trade is made and it is determined that there was collusion, the trade will be reversed and both owners will be removed from the league. Teams removed in this manner will not be issued a refund by the league. Any and all money paid to the league by these owners will be used to encourage a new owner to assume ownership of this team
  • Seasonal Trade Deadline - Kickoff of Week 11
  • Off-season - Trading will open the same day it does in the NFL (usually mid-march).

6) The Rookie Draft

  • The draft will proceed in reverse order based on the previous season's finish (win pct, points for, division record, head to head record, conference win pct, all play win pct).
  • Playoff teams will fall to the bottom of the draft order.
  • The other playoff teams will be placed into the order as they lose with the aforementioned tiebreakers being the deciding factor.
  • Champion picks last, runner up second to last, etc.

  • Any team can put forth a rule change propoasl by posting it on the message board
  • Once someone seconds a proposal it will be put to a league wide vote
  • Changes require majority (at least 17) votes to pass
  • Most accepted rule changes passed by the league will be enforced immediately
  • Exceptions include major changes such as a raise in league dues which will be implemented the following year

10) Schedule

We will play a 12 game regular season.  Every year each division will be paired with three other divisions, two within the conference and one outside the conference.  The division pairings will change each year.  For one of the divisons, each team will face off against each team (4 games).  Which team you play out of the second paired division in the 5th intra-division game and 1 non-conference game will be determined by last years standing (1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4).  For example: the two teams that finished 1st in their division will face each other, the two teams that finished second in their divsion will face each other, etc.  Division pairings will rotate every year.  The order in which games are played may change year to year.

The schedule for each team will be like this:

6 division matchups

4 intra-divisiononal matchups

1 paired non-conference matchup (a given teams matchup is determined by the prior years corresponding record)

1 paired intra-divisional matchup (a given teams matchup is determined by the prior years corresponding record)

11) Interpretation & Execution of the Rules & Regulations

  • It is the duty of the league to bring the attention of the commissioner any errors by the commissioner in the selection of waiver process, draft times, calendar dates, etc. These errors must be brought privately to the commissioner first. If the issue is deemed severe enough the commissioner will bring the issue to the league. The reason for this is to avoid unnecessary infighting, strife or problems from arising.
  • It is the duty and responsibility of each owner to understand the rules listed above. If there are any ambiguities that an owner wants clarified, it is that owners responsibility to contact the commissioner for clarification
  • Only the commissioner may make rulings which supersede any of the rules outlined in this document. This power is to be reserved for highly unusual events in which the rules either do not address an issue or fail to adequately address such an issue during the season. The rulings he makes can, and should, be voted on following the conclusion of the season in order to codify rules which will address these unusual situations. However, during the season the rulings of the commissioner will be followed by all owners of the league and will be treated as temporary rules until the league’s rule change period
  • Owners that play in this league agree to be bound by these rules and also understand that the commissioner holds final interpretation and say on matters of rule clarification
